Welcome to Lancaster Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhirelancaster.co.uk and our vehicle hire services. By using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.

1. Lancaster Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement issued with your booking confirmation or when you collect the vehicle. The agreement sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance arrangements, charges, and your responsibilities for that rental. If there's any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.

2. Lancaster Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Lancaster, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age restrictions can differ by vehicle type; additional fees may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address and payment method as required by Lancaster.

3. Lancaster Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Lancaster location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and the security deposit are usually payable when the vehicle is collected. All prices are expressed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. ...

4. Lancaster Vehicle Collection and Return

  • Lancaster requires you to inspect the vehicle thoroughly at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed at collection. Return the vehicle to Lancaster in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified on return will be assessed and charged in accordance with Lancaster’s damage policy.

5. Coverage and Liability

  • Lancaster provides basic third-party insurance with all rentals. Full coverage details and applicable excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability. Please review these options before accepting the agreement. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Lancaster and Modifications

Lancaster cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Please consult your Lancaster booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for specific details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.

7. Prohibited Uses - Lancaster

You must not use the Lancaster vehicle for:

  • Lancaster vehicles must not be used for any illegal purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-road competitions, or other hazardous activities are prohibited. Transporting hazardous or regulated materials is not permitted. Subleasing to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted. Any use that exceeds the vehicle's design or capacity is not allowed.

Violating these restrictions may result in Lancaster rental termination and additional charges.

8. Lancaster Liability Limits

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Lancaster Vehicle Hire Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees paid by you for the services that gave rise to the claim.

9. Governing Law (Lancaster)

Lancaster's Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to Lancaster Terms

Lancaster may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to Lancaster's website. Your continued use of Lancaster's services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
